The lox is salty but I like the blend of the scallion cream cheese with it. I also got the lox with egg bagel and scallion cream cheese. The flavors were popping the egg was cooked really nicely everything came together in the bagel. I got the most recommended bagel from Unilocal which was the sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel and boy did that deliver. There is a wide selection of cream cheeses which is very exciting because I plan to try like all of them haha. The color scheme is nice, they have a huge selection of drinks on the right side of the entrance. I love the huge woodening tables and the stolls. The space is very casual looking but also neat in a way. So I would recommend going early and it also helps that they open early haha. First off it is a popular spot because the moment we walked in a herd of people came after us and the line was so long. My boyfriend recommended this place to me and was raving about it being the best bagels he ever had.

Don’t go if your in a rush, but if you have the time Utopia Bagels are worth the wait.

After the new expansion the drink selection here is top notch as well… there’s a long row of glass front coolers with a really wide selection of cold drink options - plus coffee choices as well. My son had a plain bagel with lox and said it was amazing. Lox is never cheap, and while the prices here may have gone up a bit, a bagel with lox here is still a good bargain compared to most places. My wife got a french toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese that she said was excellent. Unlike some Manhattan places, they’ll toast a bagel here if that’s what you want. I had to settle for poppy seeds, but it was still worth 30 minutes. I’ll usually settle for toasted, but a fresh, hot bagel with butter is like nothing else on earth. This means either getting it really fresh or toasting it. A bagel with cream cheese only needs to be warm to be good, but with butter it needs to be hot. My personal favorite is a simple bagel with butter - preferably with sesame seeds but I’m flexible. Utopia still makes them fresh, now in an elegant open kitchen, and they are some of the best I’ve ever had.

It took us nearly 30 minutes to get some bagels this Sunday, most of it spent in a long line that wriggled its way through the store and then out the door. Utopia Bagels recently renovated and expanded, but it’s still insanely crowded on a weekend morning.
